The admissions for the Children’s Centre and Nursery are handled directly by the school. The admissions for Reception to Year 6 are managed by the Sheffield City Council Admissions Team.
Nursery Admissions
If you would like to apply for a part-time or full-time nursery place, please click here to complete a Nursery Application Form or pop into the school office to add your name to the waiting list. Our Nursery Team will be in contact with you the term before your child turns 3 years old to discuss the days and hours that you are looking for.
Children’s Centre
If you would like to apply for a place in the Children’s Centre, please click here to complete a Children’s Centre Application Form or pop into the school office to add your name to the waiting list. Our Children’s Centre Team will make contact with you when they have spaces available to discuss the days and hours you are looking for.
If you think you are entitled to a 2 year old Free Early Learning Place (FEL) and are having difficulty accessing the code, please contact the school so we can support you with this process.
Reception Admissions
It is the responsibility of parents / carers to ensure that they apply for a school place via Sheffield City Council when their child is due to start school.
Applications have to be submitted by the 15th January for children to start in the September.
To submit an application for your child, you need to apply via the Sheffield City Council website. The Sheffield Admissions Team will allocate you a place based on the admission criteria and availability.
If your child is joining us in Reception Class but has not attended a Nursery previously, we may be able to offer a place in our Nursery for the last term of the school year so they start to meet some of the children who will be moving up to Reception with them and get used to the routine of the school day.
In Year Transfers
If you would like to move your child to Sharrow School after the usual Reception admission time, you will need to apply via Sheffield City Council. Although we are full in most year groups, we do occasionally have spaces if a family move. It is worth checking with the office team if there are any spaces in the year groups you are looking for and applying via the Sheffield Admissions Team to go onto the waiting list.
