Playground Leaders Interview

This week, Y5 and Y6 members of School Council held interviews for Playground Leaders. Year 4 children had the opportunity to complete an application form, outlining why they think they would be suitable for the role. School Council then shortlisted potential candidates and sent out letters inviting them for interview. The process involved a short interview, followed by an observation of how the Year 4 children interacted with the Year 1s at playtime. They then discussed their observations and came to a decision. Training for the role begins this week and the new Year 4 Playground Leaders are very excited!

Christmas Holiday Book Challenge

Over the Christmas holidays, Y5s and Y6s took part in a reading competition. They were each given a brand new book to enjoy over the break. The three books available were: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown, Varjak Paw and Mortal Engines. The children were asked to create a piece of work inspired by the book they had read and we were delighted that so many children took part. To celebrate their hard work, all of the children who submitted their projects will go on a trip to the cinema.
