Parent Council - Botanical Gardens Walk 2016
By popular demand a group of parents met up on a Friday morning and took a walk from Sharrow School to the Botanical Gardens. It was a lovely May morning and the walk took us through Cemetery Park, onto Ecclesall Road and up through the gardens from the bottom gate. There are 5,000 species of plants in 19 acres of land and it was lovely to see a lot of them starting to come through in all their glory. After a much deserved cup of tea with cakes in the local café, we ventured into the Botanical houses to see some amazing tropical plants and we couldn’t leave without visiting the ancient Bear Pit in the gardens. It was then time to set off back to Sharrow.
