Yorkshire Sculpture Park
We visited Yorkshire Sculpture Park on a beautiful fresh day in November. We explored the underground gallery and the vast open spaces filled with sculptures. We saw artwork by Henry Moore, a world-famous artist from Yorkshire, and some fantastic sculptures by an artist called Guiseppe Penone, whose huge bronze trees were incredibly lifelike. We all thought they were real trees until we actually touched them! One of the best things we saw was a disused deer shelter that had been converted into an art installation. It was a huge concrete space with seating all around the edge and a square hole cut into the roof. When we were sitting in it we all felt peaceful and calm as we gazed up at the sky. We had a great day, and there were so many different pieces of art that we all found something that we thought was great.
